Following that astonishing partnership between Shardul and Tanush Kotian, Mumbai were able to add only 16 more runs on the third morning as the visitors wrapped things up quickly. As a result, they were set a target of 205 which was still going to be tricky. However, J&K’s top order gave their side solid starts especially with the second-wicket stand adding 75. Mumbai had some hope when Shams Mulani bagged three wickets to reduce the opposition to 159/5 but Abid Mushtaq and Kanhaiya Wadhawan ensured there were no more hiccups as they guided their side home. A draw in their last group stage encounter would guarantee J&K a place in the quarterfinals. Gujarat vs Uttarakhand On expected lines, Gujarat picked up a facile win over Uttarakhand on the third day after the visitors were bowled out for 254. Already reduced to 74/4 by stumps yesterday, Uttarakhand caved in despite Shashwat Dangal’s fighting century. Siddharth Desai, who picked nine wickets in the first innings, picked three this time as his side completed the innings win. Karnataka vs Punjab Shubman Gill found form with a fighting century on the third day but found little to no support at the other end as Punjab crashed to a heavy defeat by an innings and 207 runs against Karnataka. Always staring down at a defeat after conceding a 420-run first innings lead, Punjab had lost two wickets before stumps on the second day. While Gill made 102 off 171, Karnataka continued to pick wickets at the other end to bowl Punjab out for 213. Haryana vs Bengal Anshul Kamboj and Anuj Thakral shared eight wickets between them as Haryana wrecked Bengal by a huge margin of 284 runs. Having turned the game around yesterday, Haryana continued to build the lead to eventually set their opponents a target of 370. Bengal showed absolutely no fight in the run chase and were reduced to 29/5 in no time. The writing was on the wall from thereon as the visitors eventually got bowled out for a paltry 85. Tamil Nadu vs Chandigarh A terrific unbeaten 150 from Vijay Shankar under pressure has put Tamil Nadu firm favourites to defeat Chandigarh on the final day in Salem. TN found themselves in trouble at the start of the day after losing two quick wickets before Vijay Shankar walked out to bat to smash five sixes in his 171-ball knock before the hosts declared at 305/5, setting Chandigarh a daunting target of 403. While Manan Vohra stood firm, Sai Kishore and Ajith Ram were amongst the wickets again to reduce Chandigarh to 113/5 by stumps. They still need 290 runs to win the game with only five wickets in hand. Maharashtra vs Baroda Maharashtra were intent on piling on the runs as they scored 341 runs on the day to frustrate Baroda and go into stumps with a humongous lead of 616. Ruturaj Gaikwad missed out on a century as he got dismissed for 89 off just 83 balls but from 190/5 Maharashtra staged a great recovery on the back of a 180-run stand for the 7th wicket between Saurabh Nawale and Ramakrishna Ghosh. While Ghosh missed his ton by a run, Nawale is unbeaten on 126. Kerala vs Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh remain in control of their contest against Kerala following another productive day. Resuming with a lead of 133, MP continued to add to the tally. Rajat Patidar, looking in great touch, missed his century after getting dismissed for 92 before Venkatesh Iyer walked out at No.8 to destroy the Kerala bowling attack with six hits over the fence in his unbeaten 80 off just 70. MP then declared at 369/8, setting Kerala a target of 363. The hosts lost one wicket before stumps and will need to score 335 on the final day for a win. Rajasthan vs Vidarbha Vidarbha’s fortunes changed completely by stumps on the third day following a commendable comeback with the bat. Things looked bleak when they lost their top four for just 81 on the board, with Rajasthan still holding the lead. However, Yash Rathod led the comeback with a watchful 98 before skipper Akshay Wadkar took charge with a brilliant unbeaten century. Nachiket Bhute hit an unbeaten half-century as well as the 119-run unbroken stand for the 8th wicket gave Vidarbha a lead of 258 by stumps.
